Become His Disciple

I’m glad you made it this far.  On this page I will show you exactly how to become Jesus’ Disciple.  There are two aspects of believing in Jesus.  Let’s take a look at them:

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 ESV

The first part, is confess that Jesus is Lord.  By this, confess is a lot more than to simply say, Jesus is Lord.  It is to recognize to fact that Jesus is Lord, that is God, who has authority over your soul and your life and to choose to follow him.  Turn away from your sin (repentance) and turn toward Jesus in faith to save you from your sin.  In this, you become a disciple of Jesus, following his way and teachings.  When we confess that Jesus is Lord we choose to be under his authority in all things.  This is what following Jesus is all about.

The second part is believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.  This is more than just thinking the resurrection is true.  To believe is to count on Jesus’ Cross and Resurrection for your sake, for the forgiveness of your sins and the salvation of your soul.

For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:10 ESV

So this is how it works, you believe in Jesus, his death and resurrection, and God justifies you (makes you right with Him, forgives your sin) and you confess the Lordship of Christ over your life, and God saves your soul.

Take a moment now, Pray for understanding and faith, and make the commitment to Follow Jesus as Savior and as Lord.

Congratulations!  I’m happy for you that you made that most important of all decisions.    If you want more information, you might read this: Holy smokes! What just happened? That’s optional and you can always come back and read it later, but it’s Super Important that you read this page next: Is it important to be Baptized?
